Got Questions? We've Got Answers!
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm Boston based and am happy to travel! Anywhere within 20 miles of Boston proper is covered in the package fee.
What should we wear?
If you're coordinating with family or your partner, try and wear coordinating (but not necessarily exactly matching) colors. Patterns over a white base can work super well, but also solid coordinating colors that contrast with the background of your location. For individual photos, finding a solid contrasting color with your background can be a great option for helping you stand out.
Are your package options customizable?
Certainly! The starting cost gives you an idea of around how much a session will cost at baseline, but everyone's needs are different and I'm happy to chat through your desires to come up with a package that works for you!
When will we get our photos and how many will we receive?
You will receive a preview of your photos within one week of the photoshoot or event. Your full gallery will be delivered within four weeks of the event. How many you receive varies based on location, weather, and number of people in your group. Generally speaking, you will receive between 30 - 40 photos per hour of shooting.
What is your editing style?
I try to keep the photos as natural as possible. Enhancing the colors or adjusting the exposure is generally what I stick to to make sure that the photo stays as timeless as possible. Occasionally I may choose to remove certain things from the photos (like a random bystander in a great shot, etc) but that is the exception to the norm.
Can we bring our pet?
Absolutely! Our pets are as much a part of our family as any human (mine certainly is!). Keep in mind that you may want some photos without your pet, as well, and so you may want to bring a friend along to hold onto your fur friend for those photos. Depending on the location, you will also want to consider your pet's recall skills and reactivity.
Do you photograph weddings?
I'm happy to chat details about your elopement or micro-wedding! While I've been a second shooter for larger weddings and love the energy and excitement of the day, I am not currently booking events with more than 50 attendees.
Are there any additional fees or cost expectations?
Once we've agreed on a fee for your event the only additional fee will be the state sales tax. If you are interested in doing a shoot in a location that requires a permit, we will also need to add that to the fee. Places like the Boston Public Library, venues like those run by Historic New England, etc, require additional permits in order to shoot on their property.
Can you walk us through the process of booking with you?
Sure thing! Once we've made contact, we'll determine a service, fee, time, and date. I'll then send along a contract for you to sign, as well as an invoice. Depending on when you book there will be a deposit, with the remaining balance being due the day of the shoot.
We're not sure where to do the shoot! What do you recommend?
Is there a spot that feels special to you, your family, you and your partner? That's a great place to start! If not...quintessential Boston: Fan Pier Park, the Public Garden, the streets of Back Bay, South End - there are so many gorgeous spots in the city! Wanting more of a nature vibe? Arnold Arboretum, Larz Anderson Park, some of the properties run by the Trustees, and more! So many options! We can go to the coast, meet at your house for an indoor shoot, try and get into a restaurant early...the possibilities are endless!
We've seen some rad photos of couples on mountains...will you do that?
PLEASE bring me on a hike to take your photos, I beg of you! Bonus points if it crosses off one of my NH48! ;-)
